| "We love our Kayeman home. Kaye has that great combination of artistic flair in her architecture skills, and pragmatic civil engineering to make it all work! The home used our lot perfectly and met what we wanted in both form and function. Wonderful use of all the view angles; solidly built without "boxiness" (though Diane had to get used to not having square corners!); and "tight as a drum." The "green" features (solar collector, solar electric, ultra-insulated, etc) are good for the environment and the pocketbook (the cheapest operating costs of any of the many homes we've owned) while at the same time providing traditional Santa Fe style warmth and "homeyness."
And then when it came to the interiors, Kaye's team worked with us to make it just what we wanted . . . excellent work by her staff (designer and finish carpenter); great suppliers and installers (tile, cabinets, carpet, appliances, etc) as well as electrical, plumbing and painting to meet our every need and whim.
After living on both coasts and several places in between., this was to be our dream home for our golden years. . . thanks, Kaye--that's just what you built for us!"

"We fell in love with the land first. We would spend hours walking the lot, taking in the views, the plants and wildlife. When it came time to build, we wanted a builder who would build a house to fit the land rather than make the land fit the house.
We found that in Kayeman Custom Homes. Kaye Marshall spent time getting to know the land. The slope was quite a challenge, but instead of leveling it as many builders would do, she fit the house right into the slope. She captured views from almost every window, and created an indoor-outdoor feel, just as we requested. She had great ideas for us, but also listened to what was important to us.
While the house was being planned and later being built, Kaye and everyone at Kayeman were totally accessible. Because we lived in Maryland at that time and were building from a distance, we could count on Kaye to let us know whenever we should be there to view the work that had been done or assist in decisions that needed to be made.
We have been in our home for three years and still are excited about how well the house fits us. Kayeman Custom Homes really did build our dream home."

"Dear Kaye and Mike,
We have been in our home now almost two years and are so pleased with all of the "green" features of our home.
The insulation of our home is wonderful. We especially notice how cool it remains even on the hottest summer days. It is very "airtight" and allows very little dust compared to our prior home, as well as almost no insects or other "critters". It also is exceptionally quiet from wind, outside noise, etc.
We have been very impressed with the efficiency of the solar photovoltaic system for electricity. In addition to receiving a check from PNM monthly for about $70-80, we haven't paid an electric bill since we moved in!
The Lyptus wood cabinets are beautiful and very durable and I would recommend them to anyone considering cherry or alder. They are similar in appearance with a little more variation of red/gold and also a hardwood, but a sustainable resource and very elegant.
In summary, we are delighted with our home, which won the Gold award for a "Green Home" for the Placitas Home Tour, and so are all of our friends and family who come to visit.
